Join our sick competition and get totally rad with Radium! On 18 April Radium Boulders hosts the first Radium Arcadium competition. Superb quality boulders combined with side-events and many ways to win awesome prizes, all wrapped in an 80s arcade game theme!
Bouldering in competitions is all about attempts. Our comp will reflect this: you will receive a limited amount of coins, which you can use for your attempts. Top as many boulders as possible with as many coins left over as possible to make it to the final. Run out of coins, and you’ll have to join a sidequest to earn more! Also, joining sidequests will offer you the chance to win schweeeet prizes, courtesy of our sponsors!
There will be 6 women & 6 men in the final. The final consists of three rounds and in every round fewer of the finalists continue. The finalists will be tested on different aspects of bouldering and the superfinal will be a head-to-head of the best 2 boulderers!

CWIF – THE RAB CWIF 2020
THE RAB CWIF 2020 REGISTRATION
REGISTRATION OPENS AT 12 NOON ON MONDAY 3RD FEBRUARY 2020
There is a £10 entry fee for CWIF competitors which must be paid on registration – with 450 competitors handling payments on the day would slow sign in down and cut into competition time.
This fee is waived for those with Annual & Monthly Memberships (i.e. prepaid entries still valid on 14th March 2020, but NOT ’12 for 10s’), GB Team members (including the Development Squad) & athletes sponsored by CWIF Sponsors. Please get in touch before registering if you are unsure.
QUALIFICATION SESSIONS:
Below is the time of each session. We will aim to get everyone into their preferred session but cannot guarantee any choices until after registration closes as we need to balance the numbers between each session.
SESSION 1: 0900-1200
This session is intended for the most serious competitors who are likely to reach Semi Finals to give the most recovery time before Sunday so we get the best show possible!
If you’re entering mainly for fun, please check out Session 3!
SESSION 2: 1300-1600
This is for those who don’t climb well in the morning but are aiming for the Semi Finals.
We are also making this a special session for those Youth Academies / 14-17 y/o climbers who want to have some of the best climbers in the UK and abroad offer advice and beta for climbing the same problems they have just done.
SESSION 3 (CANNOT QUALIFY FOR SEMI FINALS – SEE BELOW): 1700-2000
Just like previous years this time slot is for those who want to have maximum fun at The Rab CWIF. We’ll be having DJ’s and 5 special ‘off-piste’ circuit problems in this last session. There are prizes for the best team fancy dress and some of the off-piste problems may require it (Rab 8000m suits & boxing gloves are common fixtures in the off-piste circuit!). This is the fun session!
REALLY IMPORTANT NOTE – Competitors in Session 3 will CANNOT QUALIFY to the Semi Finals in 2020. If you think there is a chance you will score highly enough to make it through to the Semis, register for Session 1 or 2! We’ve only ever had 1 person qualify from this session in the last 4 years. This means we can judge the harder blocs in the first 2 sessions without needing judges for a full 11 hours on Saturday keeping them a bit sharper for Sunday and lets us publish confirmed Semi Finalist lists sooner without having to process the session 3 scores at the end of a long day.
QUALIFICATION CIRCUIT:
The qualifying sessions will consist of a brand new circuit of 30 blocs in the grade range of Font5+ to Font7c.
A rough breakdown of the circuit is: 8 blocs from Font 5+ to Font 6b+; 12 blocs Font 6c to Font 7a; 10 blocs Font 7a+ to Font ‘hard’.
The holds will be from our Rab CWIF sponsors X-Cult, Beta Setting, Axis, Entre-Prises, Lapis, Nomad Volumes, Rockcity Climbing Holds, Squadra Holds & Wataaah! providing a selection of beautifully crafted holds for you to try hard on.
As usual Saturday is the Qualification Circuit with 2 qualifying sessions and a fun evening round for those who aren’t aiming for the Semis & Finals.
Semis & Finals take place on Sunday with limited on site spectator space & will be streamed live.
